The purpose of this kit, which has been developed in collaboration with Balfour Beatty Rail Maintenance Limited, is to provide a small high speed hand grinder, along with its own 12v DC power supply for the trimming of Insulated Block Joint gaps. It comes in a robust and versatile carrying case with a stock of mandrels and grinding wheels, deburring abrasive drums and holders. The kit is also provided with coarse abrasive Scotchbrite wheels for the removal of scale from rail webs where good electrical contacts are required. The equipment helps to repair damaged joints quickly and easily, in traffic.
